Dear Fellow Agents,
The Agents of Discovery team extends our best wishes for your wellness in this uncertain and challenging time. The way we interact with each other is changing as we isolate and continue to practice necessary social distancing.
Right now, we know that parents and educators are looking for ways to continue engaging their communities in safe and creative ways. In response, here are some resources we are providing…
Free, Conservation Education Image Recognition Missions every Monday
In cooperation with Johnny Morris’ Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium and the USDA Forest Service, we have launched a campaign called Mission Conservation. This will provide you access to Image Recognition (IR) Missions that you can share with your community. New Missions are launching every Monday (“Mission Monday”). Details can be seen here.
We will be hosting webinars to introduce the Mission Conservation campaign. We will also demonstrate how you can create IR Triggered Missions. To sign up, please email [email protected] and let us know if you wish to join us at 1pm EST on Wednesday, April 8th, or at 2pm EST on Thursday, April 9th. A recording will be available afterwards for anyone unable to participate.
Updated access to IR Triggers to allow players to play from home
If you want to provide your learners with Missions they can play from home, we will be providing you with free access to Image Recognition (IR) Triggers. IR Triggered Missions allow players to unlock Challenges by scanning images, which they can do from the safety of their home.
Ongoing support for safe Geo-triggered Missions in parks and public spaces
GPS Missions at parks and public spaces can provide educational programming that visitors can engage in while staying safe and practicing social distancing. Visitors can explore your site and play your Missions without needing to be in close proximity to others or touching anything but their own mobile device. Additionally, as a Mission Manager, you are able to make instant edits to your Missions while working remotely.
For more information on social distancing in parks and public spaces, check out National Recreation and Park Association’s guidelines.
Giving Mission Managers tools to provide relevant health and safety information
We have added a new Health and Safety Collection in our Challenge Library which contains pre-made Challenges about best practices for staying healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. We encourage you to add these into your Missions as you see appropriate.
It is our sincere pleasure to be able to assist you in the great work you do. We look forward to the day when we can once again gather at parks and public spaces to move, play, and learn together.
