The team at Agents of Discovery is committed to environmental stewardship. There isn’t much we enjoy more than spending time outdoors. We are huge supporters of organizations who devote their time to our natural resources, such as The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS). CPAWS puts a lot of work into conservation, calling themselves “Canada’s voice for wilderness.” CPAWS is involved in national protection initiatives across a variety of areas, including our oceans, grasslands, forests, and wildlife – and much of this work involves combating climate change. You can check them out here.
Pretty neat organization, right? You probably understand why we jumped at the opportunity to help them as they hosted a celebration for their environmental education program, “Get Outside BC.” Get Outside BC is a community-based program based around outdoor activities and skill building for youth.
Last Saturday, youth from Summerland, Kelowna, and Vernon aged 14 to 17 participated in an adventure at our local Mission Creek Park. Our expert, Agent O, headed out into the field as the group explored Mission Creek using our game. They played a special scavenger hunt we made for them that taught them all about local ecology.
