Agents of Discovery has been buzzing in the social media world lately. We thought it would be fun to compile some notable bits of social media attention we have garnered over the last couple months! Just like our Missions, the coverage spans all of North America. Also like our Missions, these mentions are awesome :).
Agents of Discovery by the Numbers
As we expand across Canada, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, we would love to work with parks, places, and spaces on making education even more engaging for youth! If you would like to do a social media feature on Agents of Discovery, we would love to know about it. Please contact [email protected] with your idea and we will be in touch.
Congresswoman Suzan DelBene
We had a great shout out from Rep. Suzan DelBene of Washington state! She is understandably proud of the work of many sites in the Pacific Northwest that are striving to educate the next generation of conservationists, STEM lovers, and others passionate about core Agents of Discovery themes.
Marc Thomas of the USDA Forest Service
It’s amazing to see that our followers share the same vision as us! Marc Thomas is the press officer/spokesperson for the USDA forest service. The idea behind Agents of Discovery is simple, we provide a safe and fun platform for our users to explore their surroundings!
TELUS World of Science Edmonton
TELUS World of Science Edmonton was just as excited about the launch of the Alberta Explorer Campaign as we were! TELUS World of Science – Edmonton’s mission is to “Ignite curiosity, Inspire discovery, Celebrate science and Change lives”, and we are excited to help them acheive their vision!
Tech Enthusiast and Twitter Influencer Mack Male
Mack Male is a dedicated community builder, and has given back to the City of Edmonton in Alberta, Canada through thousands of hours on boards, committees, and other volunteer work for more than a dozen different organizations. Mack has received numerous awards and distinctions over the years, including being named a “Top 40 Under 40” by Avenue Edmonton Magazine and one of “Alberta’s Next 10 Most Influential People” by Alberta Venture Magazine. We were so pleased to receive recognition about our Alberta Explorer campaign on his influential Twitter feed!
California State Parks
Our Friends over at California State Parks have been very active on social media lately and both their support and engagement with Agents of Discovery has been #amazing! Their PORTS PROGRAM is a great initiative that uses the power of California’s K-12 High-Speed Network (HSN) and the educational potential of live video conferencing to help schools teach common core state standards in the context of California State Parks!
NASA Goddard Visitor Center
Last (but certainly not least), we are excited to showcase a great acknowledgement from the NASA Goddard Visitor Center. We are thrilled to have a NASA facility join the fun, as the NASA Goddard Visitor Center has chosen to join the D.C. Explorer Campaign covering Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
