New Statistics! 📈

Hey Mission Makers! In an effort to ensure that everything is launched smoothly, our team is putting extra care into the statistics update that you may have heard some occasional news about. We think this will be the perfect gift to leave with partners over the holidays while they are assessing their Mission performance, and our team is committed to wrapping it up (no pun intended) in time for the new year.

You can keep on reading, or watch our What Does Jay Say video to see how it works as we take you through the new Stats page.

What We’ve Improved Upon

We realized that the data provided in Statistics was missing a few numbers from offline sessions and guest players, and have fine tuned our algorithms and the range of play data that we collect from our app providers to make sure that all offline sessions and even additional replays are recorded within the app so it can be collected by our servers the next time that Player opens Agents of Discovery while connected to WiFi.

The next time you launch your Statistics page, you may notice a slight difference in your numbers from some of the extra data we were able to collect! Below is a preview of what the stats will look like on each of the different levels (Organization / Partner / Mission) and a breakdown of these added numbers:

1) Total Plays – Instead of users, you will now see the total number of times your Mission has been played. This and all your other stats will also include guest sessions, offline sessions, and repeat plays from the same user or device. These new stats will likely be bigger than the figures that appeared in your old stats, which were limited exclusively to logged-in users before the update.

2) Average Monthly Plays – Just like with Total Plays, your stats will show the average monthly play sessions which should see an increase as well!

3) Total + Average Monthly Time Played – Previously this metric was exclusively tucked inside the logged-in players section, but we have now made it available in your general stats to reflect all play sessions including guests. This is a great reference to see how long on average it takes to play your Mission! A decent-sized GPS Mission typically clocks in at around half an hour and playing through the Challenges should not take guests much longer than to walk through the space or trail normally.

4) Total + Average Monthly Distance Walked – Another metric that’s been made available in your general stats to reflect all play sessions. Useful to show off how active your guests have been while connecting to your public space!

5) Total Logged-in Users – This number will more closely match the current number of users you had accrued prior to the stats update, and should continue to increase a bit more often now that our tracking has improved. This still won’t necessarily break down each unique user, but it will provide great insight into how many players are creating a profile and saving their rewards and Mission progress, which is crucial for participating in Explorer Campaigns.

6) Additional Minute / Hour / Year Toggles – In addition to sorting play sessions by day and month, you can now gain insight into the total number of sessions for a Mission across the entire year, or look into the times of day at which your Missions are most frequently played! At the bottom of the graph is an additional filter which you can toggle to display play sessions, in addition to downloads and users.

NOTE:  Be sure to modify your filter range at the top of the page to get accurate results for your particular search. By default, it will be set to cover the last 90 days.

When The Update is Released…

You will not need to download any updates on the Mission Maker side of things, and this update will happen automatically (with an announcement to follow) once it is ready to go. That said, be on the lookout for a new app version in the App / Google Play Stores which will launch alongside the Mission Maker update! This download will be mandatory for all clients and players to ensure that their data is accurately recorded moving forward.

Our initial efforts will be focused on refining current stats that have been collected, and moving forward we’re hoping to add more valuable metrics. If there are certain statistics you would like to see included, please reach out to your Customer Success team and let us know your thoughts!
