What’s New in the Mission Maker

This month we’re focusing on some upcoming improvements to the Mission Maker, and some helpful troubleshooting techniques you can use to keep the Mission Maker running smoothly on your browser or network.

Addressables

Players love interacting with 3D objects in the AR Sorters and Sequencers! We wanted to make the planning stages of these challenges easier, so moving forward, our entire collection of 3D objects, or Addressables, will be available from a separate link in the Mission Maker’s left sidebar menu.

This 3D library is constantly expanding, so be sure to check back frequently for new content as we build out robust collections around themes like life sciences, physical sciences, earth and space science, culture, history, and climate change — to name just a few.

As our team continues to expand this collection, we’ll also be making occasional finishing touches on some of those models to make sure that they are proportionally accurate. If a certain object looks out of place in terms of its size, please let our team know so we can make the necessary revisions!

Statistics

The dev team is also completing an overhaul of the Statistics page. Soon the Mission Maker will accurately track individual play sessions on each device that launches the app.

For guests who have played Missions in areas without Wi-Fi or cell service, our systems are also being revised to capture those offline stats more efficiently once a device re-enters an area with reception. Your user numbers may appear to have a brief blow up once the system pulls data from those offline users.

If you are overseeing accounts in an organization with at least 20 different partners, you’ll now be able to see player stats for your entire organization. This will appear in an Organizational Statistics panel, just above the Partner and Mission Statistics.

Cache Clearning

This is a helpful trick we wanted to share with you in any situation where the Mission Maker isn’t operating at 100% or is experiencing some loading issues. Sometimes old data or preferences in your browser’s cache can cause interference when performing certain actions. Wiping that data will allow the browser to “reset its headspace” and forget that info. We have seen this work in several situations for Mission Makers when a page isn’t loading or when certain buttons won’t respond.

Visit the links below to clear your cache, depending on your preferred browser:

Whitelisting

If clearing your cache still isn’t working, you may need to make sure that the Mission Maker is white listed by your firewall. Please visit the link below and share the Platform Domains and External Domains lists with your IT department.
