Localizing Your Missions and Challenges

Did you know that the Mission Maker allows you to create translated versions of the same Mission in English, French, and Spanish? Language Localization is a tool which will enable you to connect with a wider audience of players who can access your Missions in their preferred language.
Localizing Your Missions and Challenges
You can find a video tutorial on how to localize your Mission here.
You can edit the content language for your Missions and Challenges by clicking on the Content Language button in the top right corner of the Mission Maker, as pictured below:

Clicking this button gives you the option to toggle between English, French and Spanish.
The first time you open up a Mission or Challenge in a new language, the text boxes on the page will be totally blank. Fill them in with a translated version of your original text to create your localized Mission or Challenge.
One partner that has done an amazing job of creating localized content is El Pueblo de Los Ángeles. Check out these screenshots from the Mission Maker of a Mission that is available in both English and Spanish:

One last note for Mission Makers: once you change your content language, the setting is saved for future editing. You will need to change back to your original content language when you are done adding translations.
Playing Missions In Spanish or French
To view localized content in the app, a player must set their language preference in the Settings screen, as pictured below.

This will update the language for display (screen titles, button text, etc) and enable your players to enjoy your Mission in their preferred language. If a user sets their language to Spanish and views the Missions list, any nearby Missions with localized Spanish content will show up in Spanish for them. If there is no Spanish content available for Missions in the player’s local area, they will be displayed in the list in English. Be sure to provide some on-site signage or instructions to let guests know that your Mission is available in multiple languages.
Happy Mission Making!
