Mission of the Month: Castle Rock Parks & Trails Foundation
“Exploring Castle Rock with the Agents of Discovery app has been an adventure like no other. Families have embarked on interactive quests, uncovering hidden gems in Metzler Family Open Space, and learning about our local heritage. This app has turned our town into an educational playground!”
Castle Rock has only joined the Agents of Discovery network recently, but Mission Makers are enthusiastic about the platform. There are currently Missions at three outdoor spaces around the town – Festival Park, Metzler Family Open Space, and Philip S. Miller Park. It may be mud season in Colorado, but Castle Rock Parks & Trails Foundation makes it easy for players to explore the town and enjoy nature.
The “Festival Park Mission” is the newest of the three. It takes players through the urban park to explore the seasons, local animals, and how to be mindful in nature.
The “Trails @ Metzler Family Open Space” Mission explores Castle Rock’s newest open space. Players learn about the lifestyles of local animals and the best practices in trail etiquette.
The “ Trails @ Philip S. Miller Park” Mission takes players around the largest open space in Castle Rock. Players will learn different ways to appreciate and engage with nature while being aware of their impact on the environment.
