Mission of the Month: South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism

Agents of Discovery has been an excellent way to engage our visitors with interactive Missions. It has really helped our visitors slow down and notice things they might have otherwise overlooked.
The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism currently has six Missions spread out across the state. This year we have three new Missions: Atalaya Adventure at Huntington Beach State Park, Discover Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site at Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site, and Exploring Edisto at Edisto Beach State Park. We are also continuing to run our Explore Andrew Jackson State Park, Explore Life in the Lake at Sesquicentennial State Park, and Let’s Be Nature Detectives at Paris Mountain State Park Missions.
Our Missions cover a variety of topics from animal and plant life in our parks to stewardship, archaeology and colonial history. Our Exploring Edisto Mission focuses on coastal plant and animal life whereas the Discover Colonial Dorchester State Historic Site Mission teaches about Dorchester’s past. We invite you to discover South Carolina with our Missions on the Agents of Discovery app!
