“AR” You Ready?

It’s been a hectic time for our team lately as we work to bring you more amazing adventures in augmented reality! We hope you’ve enjoyed trying out the AR Sorter Challenges, and can’t wait to see all the new educational experiences your teams bring to life. So many concepts in the biosphere depend upon classification; we are confident you are going to find this a useful challenge type.
Now, we’d like to keep the gears turning and bring our second new Challenge of 2021 into the spotlight:
the AR Sequencer!
Like our other AR-based Challenges, the AR Sequencer uses your device camera to create an immersive play field out of the physical space around you. Players will see 3D objects, and will need to pick them up and place them in a sequential order based on their relationship with one another, in order to complete the Challenge.

In the Challenge above, the player is prompted to place a leaf, a rabbit, and a golden eagle according to their places in the food chain. There are boxes on the ground which function as “platforms” that players can place the 3D objects on top of.
The box labeled “1” represents the bottom of the food chain, “2” is the middle, and “3” is the top. To solve this challenge, the player must place (you guessed it:) the leaf on box 1, the rabbit on box 2, and the golden eagle on box 3.

Players can pick up and hold objects, and must walk over to the platforms to place them where they belong. At any time, players can hover over a 3D item or a platform and tap the “i” button to see a descriptor of the item they are interacting with.
As the Mission Manager, you get to decide how many platforms are in your sequence, and whether the sequence is linear (has a beginning and end, like a timeline) or cyclical (repeats in a constant loop, like a life cycle).
Please note that your guests will need access to a flat, open space to play this Challenge, so in your GPS Missions, be sure to place it in a location that has space to move around, and is away from crowds.
