Agents of Discovery offers an alternative platform to engage visitors when they visit our different sites. Our society today uses technology everywhere, and Agents of Discovery gives us a way to encourage nature exploration and provide a deeper connection using a common phone application. Agents of Discovery sees technology not as a distraction from nature, but as a way to connect the visitors to the wonders of the natural world around us. The educational platform offers a creative solution to stay relevant to our audience with ever-changing content.

The Sunshine Coast Council had the largest launch day ever recorded for Agents of Discovery! We have been running Missions since 2020, changing the Missions around school holiday term breaks. The Missions have run at three different sites;

Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary
Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden
Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve

Each site is unique in its features and interpretive themes!

We currently have a Mission running at Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, a remnant rainforest, covering the topic of invertebrates. As this site often has mobile connection issues, we use trigger images to activate the challenges within the Mission. The challenges then encourage the user to explore different topics using the variety of interactive Challenge types. We change this Mission to coincide with our rotating themes inside our Rainforest Discovery Centre.

We are also currently running a mission at the Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden titled Elemental Kids. This Mission was created to fit with our school holiday program offered at the site. This focused on the four elements, earth, fire, water and air. With better connectivity at this site, the Challenges are triggered by location.

Agents of Discovery can fit within the needs of any site. They are a great company to work with and we are looking forward to being part of the first ever Australian Explorer Campaign. Coming Soon in partnership with other Southeast Queensland agencies!
