City of South San Francisco
We launched our first three missions this past February at locations across the City. AOD allows us not only to continue to engage our residents virtually during COVID-19, but it also helps us highlight lesser known parks. For example, one of our most popular missions has been at our City’s sculpture garden. Each sculpture has its own inquiry-based challenge to encourage players to connect with the art. We’ve already received great feedback from residents! Many express AOD was a fun weekend activity for their family and allowed them to explore a new park. In the future, we are hoping to use AOD to have virtual events, such as an Easter Egg Hunt. The flexible AOD platform allows us to engage residents in a variety of ways.
The City of South San Francisco is home to the famous hillside sign on Sign Hill, facing north of the city reading ‘South San Francisco the Industrial City’. The sign was put up as a tribute to recognize the significant contributions of heavy industry in the area that aided the regional economy during World Wars I and II.
The City of South San Francisco currently has 3 entertaining Missions that users can explore.
